Stabilise your roof, stop draughts and reduce energy costs with just one application of Thermofix foam insulation. Whatever the construction of your roof, as it ages nails, slates and tiles often degrade. the roof progressively becomes less water resistant and more susceptible to storm damage. This often leads to the need for a re-roof which will be disruptive, time-consuming, inconvenient and expensive. Luckily there is an alternative - A single application of Thermofix foam insulation.
Thermofix stabilises the roof, bonding the slates or tiles together and to the structural and supporting timbers, eliminating the need for a re-roof. Prior to this, any loss or damaged areas would have been restored by our technicians so that your roof retains its original character.
In addition (and unlike a conventional re-roof), Thermofix effectively insulates your loft, keeping the loft-space warmer and preventing condensation build-up.
Draughty loft space?
If you feel a flow of air as you open the loft-hatch, rain or snow often penetrate and dirt and dust blows throughout the loft space, you are likely to have a problem with the underfelt in your roof, or may even have no underfelt at all. This will also have an effect on your heating bills, due to the excessive heat lost through the faulty roof.
An application of Thermofix foam insulation, directly onto the underside of the tiles or slates, improves on the performance of the underfelt, thereby stopping the penetration of rain, snow and dust and preventing leaks and condensation.
Because Thermofix foam insulation insulates so effectively, the result is a drier, cleaner, warmer roof space, where the risk of pipes and tanks freezing is eliminated and fuel bills can be reduced.
Batten down the hatches! - Stabilise your home with higher insulation
Are you alarmed that your property may not withstand gales, due to slipping roof
tiles – quite apart from
flooding, and concern over rising fuel prices?
Batten down
the hatches by treating your home to a layer of Thermofix foam insulation inside your
roof to bond nails and pegs to the tiles or slates and save expensive re-roofing. Your roof is far more likely to survive storms, while reducing energy costs.
To avoid re-roofing a house that is suffering from nail fatigue, a layer of Thermofix foam insulation can be sprayed to a nominal depth of 40mm onto the underside of the slates or tiles of a
pitched roof. This takes on the function of the fixing nails, battens and roofing felt
to stabilise and weatherproof the roof and goes a long way to improve the
insulation. For the additional purpose of optimum insulation, the foam, applied to
a nominal depth of 85mm at rafter level, together with the existing layer of
insulation at joist level, brings the thermal performance right up to today’s
stringent standards and even avoids the need to ventilate the roof space.
An added bonus - due to the sealing qualities of the foam - is the
reduction of airborne sound penetrating the property. Humidity levels and
condensation are also better controlled providing better air quality within the
home.
Retrofitting of uninsulated or poorly insulated properties provides the
biggest contribution to carbon dioxide savings, with an impact both on the local
environment and globally. Over 100,000 properties have been treated to
polyurethane foam insulation in the UK.
