 Property Restoration Applications
Thermofix is increasingly used in the restoration of period properties, including Grade I or II listed buildings. When renovating properties of this type, a sympathetic approach is required, in order to maintain the property's original character.
Thermofix allows you to achieve this, without compromising on performance and even eliminates the necessity to remove roof tiles or slates; the integrity of the roof remains, while providing you with considerable cost savings through improved energy efficiency.
Currently, Building Regulations specify 85mm of Thermofix foam insulation, which provides a marvelous base for plastering, leaving a beautifully smooth finish. The rafters can then either be covered with plasterboard, or plaster can be applied directly to the Thermofix to leave the rafters exposed.
Thermofix foam insulation can provide the most cost effective method of converting barn roofs and meet the ever-increasing demand for energy efficient buildings. Thermofix is applied directly to the underside of the tiles or roofing felt, creating a warm deck construction without the need for a ventilated airspace.
